HP-Pavilion-dv6t

Following the release of the next generation Intel Core i7 processors in 2009, only a few laptops have been blessed to carry it.  And one of them is HP Pavilion Quad Edition dv6t.  This 15.6-incher is estimated to cost around $999.  Is the HP Pavilion Quad Edition dv6t worth one’s money? Let us see.

The HP Pavilion Quad Edition dv6t comes with either of the two latest Intel Core i7 processors.  First is the Intel Core i7 720QM that clocks at 1.6 GHz and can be Turbo Boost-ed to 2.8 GHz.  Next is the faster Intel Core i7 820Qm that runs at 1.73 GHz and can be Turbo Boost-ed to 3.06 GHz.  Any of these Intel Core i7 processors could be backed up by up to 4 GB read access memory, ensuring very smooth operations even when opening hardcore and memory-hungry applications.

Usually, the laptop component that’s first to buckle down is usually the hard drive.  Why? That is because, generally laptops do not have enough space to store large amount of files.  But with the HP Pavilion Quad Edition dv6t, one has the option to bring in up to 640 GB of disk space.  Furthermore, files stored in this disk is protected by HP’s proprietary ProtectSmart hard disk protection technology, which automatically shuts down the hard drive when it senses that it is falling down.

HP Mini 311 – Review

Posted on January 12th, 2010 | by admin

hp_mini_311

HP seeks to blast its way into the netbook market by creating the HP Mini 311 — another mobile PC that aims to exceed expectations from this thinking machine category. The HP Mini 311 really isn’t your average netbook and we’re giving you the reasons why.

Netbooks have found a niche market in people who are always on the run.  These users’ primary concern is a laptop’s size and weight – without sacrificing their hunger for a wireless connection, graphic media contents and basic computing.  Because netbooks are small and lightweight, they are the perfect portable machines.  Computer manufacturers try to squeeze in fewer and less powerful features, and for a lesser price.

At first look, the HP Mini 311 may just be one of those usual netbooks – powered by the single-core Intel Atom processor (N270), supported by a gigabyte of RAM, lacking a built-in optical drive, and loaded with just 160 GB of disk space. But HP bolted out of the usual when it packed the Mini 311 with some features a netbook user would be delighted to have – a graphics chip and a high-resolution display.
